About

Hi.
Thanks for stopping by…
Let me tell you a little bit about me.

I’ve been doing this producer thing for a long time. I’ll skip the exact number here, but if you’re curious you can do the math on my resume page.

Just to put it out there, I’m not Millennial. I’m not Gen Z. Instead, I have years of experience that afford me industry bragging rights, a great reputation, numerous contacts, and a razor-sharp ability to proactively problem solve. I know right from wrong which helps me handle any kind of budget you may have; from the absurd down to a shoe-string. Any type of content, bring it on. I’m good at what I do and enjoy doing it.

If you’re still reading, keep scrolling down if you wanna know my backstory…

I started as a production secretary back in the day when directors’ reels were on physical three-quarter inch tapes. I watched every one of them, before returning via messenger, and dreamed of being on-set looking ever-so-important while using one of those expensive flip cell phones.

I got my chance after just a year, and learned everything I could about producing until I found my footing and developed my own style. Throughout the years I maneuvered around politics and churned out numerous spots for both small boutique clients, as well as big clients that you couldn’t escape during a commercial break.

Eventually, I ran a department for a couple of years, and then explored new revenue sources for agencies when that trend started. But I missed producing and solving problems for other people, so I went freelance. I bounced around from shop to shop and coast to coast producing spots and setting up production processes for agencies, big and small, all the while making a day rate and taking conference calls (not video calls) in my boxers (before it became the norm).

Then the opportunity presented itself to oversee a group of producers for a large account. I returned to a collaborative and staff environment. I was no longer a lone maverick, and I was now responsible for advising, teaching, and mentoring kids half my age into solidly-confident creative producers. And I loved it. Still love it. And I want to continue doing just that. Don’t tell them, but they’re influencing me just as much, keeping me relevant and current in this ever-changing production environment.

And since change is inevitable, I’m in search of my next big adventure…

(FYI—shameless self-promotion ahead!)

I’ve been profiled in Shoot and Creativity, have a Lion and an Effie, and have had spots air on the Super Bowl AND Puppy Bowl, not to mention print billboards on Sunset Boulevard, and digitals in Times Square – but that doesn’t mean I’m done. I know there’s more for me out there, and I’m looking for that next opportunity to create a new production process, manage and advise a team, share my wisdom, and of course learn something new…whether that be freelance or on staff, completely remote or in-person. I’m game.

Thanks for the professional visit, or the snoop. Feel free to reach out—even if it’s just to say hey.

Guy
